HUNT MALLARD DUCKS IN IDAHO WITH DRY FOOT OUTFITTERS

There are not many places where you can duck hunt and plan on keeping your feet dry. Here at DFO, we specialize in Mallards. To be more specific: Mallards over dry ground. Our world famous duck field sits next to the Hagerman Wildlife Refuge. The Hagerman Valley has been known as the mecca for waterfowl of Idaho and the final migration stop for a majority of the Pacific/Central Flyway corridor.

The abundant fields of grain and corn have drawn birds from Saskatchewan and Alberta as well as the Dakotas and Montana for over 100 years. A typical Mallard hunt at DFO will consist of a large, warm and roomy panel blind a few rows back in the standing corn. The birds tend to move towards the fields around noon during the peak of the season. Don’t be surprised if you are given a start time of 9-10:00 a.m. by your guide. No need to get there too early when the temperatures max out in the single digits. A sunny blue bird day with the temps in the teens is what you’re looking for. You and your party will arrive to a decoy spread of full body decoys and some of the finest calling you will ever experience. Don’t get too excited; we pride ourselves on being picky and only cashing in the Greenheads when it’s time. Feel free to bring your camera, some snacks and plenty of hot coffee. Big groups of Mallards in the bright sunshine are just what the doctor ordered.

A non refundable deposit is required to book all hunts.
